Who we are

ABIDE of NC, LLC is a North Carolina business owned by Joe Conway. This policy covers www.abide4us.com.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for targeted ads. We do not share it with partners for their own ads.

What you share with us

If you email Joe, we receive your email address and what you send. Client records hold the details you share for our work together.

Some blog posts allow comments. The form asks for a name and email address. Your name and comment can be public. The form says your email is not shared with the public. Please keep private details out of public comments.

We use these details to reply, provide the work you ask for, and manage comments.

Site data

Wix hosts this site. It handles data needed to send pages and keep the site safe. This can include your network address, browser details, and site requests.

Our cookie banner is on. In our tests, the Wix Meta event request stayed off before a choice and after Reject all. Some Wix site logs still ran. We are checking what those logs collect and why they are needed.

How long we keep records

We keep subscriber email details while you subscribe. We keep them for three years after you cancel.

For visit data that ABIDE holds and controls, our planned limit is three years after your last visit.

We keep inquiry emails and client records for three years from the first inquiry email. We keep blog comments and the contact details sent with them for three years from the date of the comment.

Cookie expiry is separate from these record limits. Wix and Substack have their own storage rules. We cannot set all of their records to end at three years. We are checking which records we can remove under our limits.

Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small files saved by your browser. Needed cookies help the site load, keep it safe, and save your choice. These stay on.

Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change your choice. You can Accept all, Reject all, or choose by group. Reject all turns off the optional groups. Needed cookies stay on.

Global Privacy Control, or GPC, is a privacy signal from your browser. Our test found that it did not turn off an earlier Accept all choice. We have asked our consent service for a fix. Until this is fixed, use Cookie settings and Reject all to turn off the optional groups.

What our review found

The October 7, 2026 review found these Wix cookies:

hs, XSRF-TOKEN, svSession, and server-session-bind: site safety and core functions.
ssr-caching: page loading.
bSession: Wix system checks.
consent-policy: cookie choices.

Some end when the browser session ends. Others have an expiry date. Your browser can show each cookie and its expiry date. Those dates may change on a later visit.

The review also found stored _fbp and _fbc cookies linked to Meta, and a stored _gcl_au cookie linked to Google ad tools. Old cookies can stay after a tool is turned off. You can remove them in your browser settings.

After Accept all, we saw an event request to a Wix path named analytics-reporter/facebook/event. We did not confirm that Wix sent it on to Meta. The request was absent before a choice and after Reject all in our tests. Wix shows Meta Pixel & CAPI as not connected. The separate Facebook Pixel custom-code snippet is off. No active Google tag was confirmed.

We marked three related Wix scripts as Marketing in the consent tool. Tests checked no choice, each optional group, Accept all, and Reject all. Tests cannot show every record a vendor holds.

Our consent service

We use Usercentrics for Wix to manage cookie choices. It saves your choice in cookies and browser storage named ucData and ucString.

Usercentrics keeps a record of your choice. This may include a consent ID, time, choices, and device details. Usercentrics has its own rules for these records. These are separate from ABIDE's record limits.

Other platforms

Newsletter signup and paid content take place on Substack at read.abide4us.com. Substack controls its platform and has its own privacy policy.

YouTube also has its own privacy policy. When you follow a link there, its rules apply. The same is true for other outside sites linked here.

We use Wix to hold the contact details and records you share with us. Joe manages these records through the site owner account.

Your requests

Ask us to see, fix, or remove the personal data we hold about you. Your rights depend on where you live and which laws apply. We may need to check that a request comes from you. We will use only the details needed for that check.

We will handle requests within the time required by law. If we cannot grant a request, we will explain why and how to ask us to review it.

This site is for adults

Our main audience is age 26 and up. Adults age 18 and up are welcome. We do not seek or knowingly collect personal data from people under 18.

If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact Joe. We will review it and remove it as the law requires.
